ASM Young Ambassador – Honduras

ChatGPT Image Jun 23, 2026, 11_43_00 AM.png

In 2026, I was appointed by the American Society for Microbiology as Young Ambassador to Honduras, a role that connects ASM's global network with students, educators, and early-career scientists working in microbiology and related disciplines across the country.

The ambassadorship is, at its core, an exercise in scientific bridge-building: identifying where ASM's resources (training programs, membership benefits, career development tools) can meet the needs of a scientific community that often operates with limited institutional support. My focus has been on expanding awareness of ASM programs among Honduran universities and research groups, facilitating access to workshops and educational materials, and creating entry points for early-career scientists who might not otherwise encounter ASM's ecosystem.

In June 2026, I attended ASM Microbe in Washington, DC, as part of the Young Ambassador Program.
